New partnership set to drive sustainable energy solutions

A new collaboration between Counties Energy, Ara Ake, European-based Plexigrid, and our EV charging platform OpenLoop has commenced in South Auckland, intending to demonstrate active capacity management – ultimately accelerating Counties Energy’s transition to a distributed system operator (DSO).

This pilot supports customer investment in distributed energy resources, such as electric vehicles and solar panels, and will better enable their participation in active network orchestration services.

Counties Energy and Plexigrid aim to drive the adoption of innovative renewable technologies, promote sustainable energy practices, and ultimately support customers on their path toward decarbonising their energy use.

We aim to gain some clear insights from this partnership into how the network can support electric vehicles now and into the future, assisting us with key investment decisions.
