Widespread Outage – Monday 12 June

A Transpower outage this morning (Monday 12 June) affected power supply to around 70 percent of our network for up to 30 minutes. Areas affected were on the northern, eastern and southern part of our region, including southern Papakura, Pukekohe, Tuakau, Pokeno, across the Waikato River to Onewhero and Port Waikato on the west coast and through to Kaiaua on the east coast. Once Transpower resolved the issue at their end we were able to progressively restore power to the network.
Around 25,000 properties were affected. We thank our customers for their patience while the issue was being resolved.
