Counties Power recognised for industry excellence
The company is one of three in the running for the Network Initiative of the Year award at the prestigious Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards.
Counties Power’s award entry is INDI (Infrastructure and Network Data Interface), an on-line system that delivers automated fault identification and servicing, communicating real-time messaging to customers along with systematic logging and dispatching of crews for faults.
Counties Power Chief Executive Judy Nicholl says the solution was developed internally by local staff which is something to be recognised and celebrated.
Counties Power is one of the few network companies to own their local smart meter network and data, which covers 95 percent of the region’s electricity network. The platform enables the company to use this data to view both high and low voltage networks in order to prioritise, plan, action and communicate restoration and maintenance activities to staff and customers.
The platform links in with the new Counties Power app which offers customers a quick and easy way to report and be informed of power outages that affect their home or business.
Ms Nicholl says the app keeps customers up to date 24/7, providing assurance around their power supply. “Our app keeps you up-to-date on the expected outage resolution times and when power has been restored. This means people can plan their day and simply wait for a text or email direct to their smartphone to stay informed. Type app.countiespower.com in your smartphone internet browser to get the app now.”
The Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards will be announced at a black tie awards ceremony on 21 August 2019.
