Counties Energy announces new community partnership

The new partnership includes the company signing on as a Black Sand Gold sponsor of the Surf Life Saving Kariaotahi building project and the naming rights sponsor of the Counties Energy Kariaotahi SAR Squad.

Counties Energy Chief Executive Judy Nicholl says the company is excited to add this partnership to its emergency services portfolio, including Sunset Beach Lifeguard Service, Waiuku Coastguard and Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust.

“We’re honoured to be supporters of essential emergency services and safety within our community, which makes this a natural partnership for us to partake in.  The work Surf Life Saving Kariaotahi team does in keeping our community safe in and around the water is incredible and aligns with our value of always putting safety first.”

Surf Lifesaving Kariaotahi is a volunteer run affiliate of Surf Life Saving Northern Region and part of the overall family of Surf Life Saving New Zealand, providing volunteer surf rescue services on weekends and public holidays from Labour Weekend through to the end of the Easter school holidays as well as a 24/7 call out service throughout the year.

Kariaotahi Surf Life Saving Vice President Brad Walters says that as a non-profit charitable organisation, the Club continues to depend on the goodwill of the community and commercial sponsors to fund their rescue services.

“We’re reliant on partnerships to supply the service we do for our community, so we’re extremely thankful to have Counties Energy, another essential services provider, on board to support our specialised Search and Rescue squad, while also helping us to raise the funds necessary to build the facilities needed to help us carry on our work.”
