EV drivers with smart chargers – this one’s for you!
To help us better understand and prepare for the growing electrification of our network we are asking customers with EV smart chargers on the Counties Energy network to share relevant charging information.
This information will be used solely for EV charging-related purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will assist us in managing our network more efficiently as the number of electric vehicles and use of smarter technologies continue to increase.
Not sure whether your charger is smart?
The main difference between a basic charger and a smart one lies in its functionality and features. A basic EV charger will charge your EV whenever you connect it, but it will not have additional features such as internet connectivity, a mobile app and charger scheduling functionality that can align with your retail plan.
Smart chargers offer enhanced functionality, such as remote management, scheduling, power regulation, usage tracking, and even integration with home energy management systems. Shown here are two examples of common ‘basic’ EV chargers.
