Counties Energy Fuels STEM Inspiration Through Robogals Sponsorship
Counties Energy has reaffirmed its commitment to long-standing partner Robogals, an international student-led organisation igniting a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in young people.
In its fifth year of support, the company is proud to bring fun, hands-on workshops to the Franklin community. Robogals breaks down barriers and plants the seeds of possibility for the next generation of problem-solvers, inventors and engineers.
So far in 2025, Robogals Auckland has delivered 78 workshops, engaging hundreds of students in robotics, coding and dragster car builds. Led by student volunteers from the University of Auckland, these sessions spark creativity, confidence, and curiosity, showing tamariki that STEM is both fun and full of future possibilities.
Through Counties Energy’s support, Robogals workshops are reaching Franklin, giving more young people the chance to develop their skills and confidence. This year, over 40 percent of participants have been female, highlighting the programme’s role in encouraging diversity in STEM. Workshops have been held in local schools and at Pukekohe Library.
Counties Energy General Manager Commercial and Corporate Affairs, Andrew Toop says the initiative is working at a community level to inspire youth.
“Robogals creates opportunities for young people to discover, explore, and challenge themselves through STEM. It’s inspiring to see the energy and confidence that comes from these hands-on workshops. At Counties Energy, we’re excited to support programmes that empower our communities and help shape a brighter future.”
Counties Energy’s 100-year legacy reflects its ongoing commitment to initiatives that inspire young people, strengthen education, and drive innovation.
Through partnerships like Robogals, Counties Energy invests in opportunities that inspire creativity, empower the next generation, and equip communities to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
