Significant Weather update -Heavy rain and strong winds
Our region is set to receive some more heavy rain and serve gales from 2pm Thursday through to 6am Friday morning.
MetService has advised that a Heavy Rain Watch remains in effect. We’re set to see rainfall from 2pm today through to 4 am Friday morning with S-SE wind gust reaching up to 70-80 km/hr from about 6pm through to midnight tonight with the potential gale change until 6am Friday of up to 80-95 km/hr S-SW wind gusts.
This heavy rain event could potentially cause flooding due to previous rain events throughout the start of the week and last week bringing soil moisture levels to saturation, potentially seeing some flooding impacts in areas around Auckland.
