Counties Energy appoints new Director and welcomes new CFO
Counties Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Wendie Harvey as a new director on the Board.
With a background in law, Mrs Harvey brings extensive experience as a director, trustee, lawyer and business consultant. Her leadership roles have spanned public and private sectors, including NZX-listed companies, local government and not-for-profit organisations.
Mrs Harvey currently serves as Chair of Eastland Infrastructure and holds directorships at Aurora Energy, Unison Networks, Port Taranaki, TAB New Zealand and Hawkes Bay Airport and advises to the Hawkes Bay Regional Recovery Agency. Her past governance experience includes roles at Fire and Emergency NZ, Centralines, EIT, Napier Port and QRS Wairoa.
Counties Energy Board Chair Keith Watson says Mrs Harvey brings significant expertise in the electricity distribution sector.

Mrs Harvey’s position on the Board is effective immediately.
Counties Energy also welcomes Lorne Peters as the new Group Chief Financial Officer. Mr Peters commenced his role in March 2025 following an internal promotion.
Having joined Counties Energy in 2016 as Finance Manager, Mr Peters has also held finance roles across various industries, including manufacturing, packaging and distribution. Alongside leading the Finance Team, Lorne also serves as Company Secretary. He is a Chartered Accountant in both New Zealand and Canada.
Mr Peters succeeds Conrad Harvey, who served as Group Chief Financial Officer for eight years. The Board extends its gratitude to Mr Harvey for his dedicated service and contributions to Counties Energy.
